The Weekend Bag features a one piece bag-handle design, an interior zip pouch and separate key strap and is finished with full interior piping.

The first question, that I get asked about this bag, usually is: Why canvas and not leather? Being an atelier, that specialises in leather goods making, that is a reasonable question. So why canvas? One part of the answer is my background in fashion, fabrics and tailoring. For its technical superiority and the beauty of its classic weave, canvas has been one of my favourite materials during my studies. In addition to that, I believe that, as leather is such a precious material, it should only be used where suitable. Heavy duty carrying, a fully stuffed big bag and everyday situations, that occupy your attention on other things than taking care of your bag, demand for a highly durable and maintenance friendly material, like canvas.
Another really interesting part of this bag is the handle design. I quickly noticed there is a reason not many bags feature this design, as this was probably the longest time I worked on a pattern and workmanship. The unique pattern of this bag features a „One-Piece-Design“, meaning the handle is in one part with the bag. This idea sprung from the many bag repairs, that I have executed in the atelier, where the handles were always the most frequent detail, that needed repair. So with this large bag, that can hold a lot of weight, I wanted to make sure to distribute the weight of the bag very evenly throughout the whole bag and to not stress the handle point.
Apart from the technical construction of the bag, another special feature is the all around print. A custom made print design for boem, it features specific details about the bag and the limited edition, including the release date, a serial number and the technical details of the canvas fabric. In the 2 year long search for a printer, that would do the highest quality screen print for me in a small quantity, I ultimately came to the conclusion, that I had to learn screen printing myself. And so I did and now the entire sewing and screen printing process takes place in Berlin, in our own atelier and in a traditional screen printing studio, that I rent out for the printing hours.
To produce the Weekend Bag under our high artisanal standards we need 8 hours of manufacturing time. This includes 7 hours of assembling work and 1 hour of screen printing time.
The above mentioned manufacturing time does not include the hours, that go into the development of our products. Each product is the result of an original design idea, that has been sketched, sampled and tested in our atelier. This process usually ranges over 1-2 years.

Our cotton canvas comes from a mill in the United States, weighing 15 oz and the weave being plainweave double filled. This natural, heavyweight cotton is highly durable and sturdy, while you can easily maintain it at home.
The Weekend Bag can be washed at home – color separated, in cold, short spin, gentle wash and flat drying.
Our products are made with the greatest of care and attention to detail. Our Weekend Bag is entirely cut and machine-sewn in our atelier, as well as it is screen printed by us in a small screen printing atelier in Berlin.
Our materials are chosen amongst the highest quality suppliers on the market. Our cotton canvas comes from a mill in the United States, our zippers are made by Riri in Switzerland, our bias tape is 100% organic cotton and our cotton thread is by Fil Au Chinois from France.
